¤ State without plate number 6 in the lower right-hand corner. Beautiful double hemisphere world map from a folio Dutch Bible published by Hendrik and Jacob Keur. Surrounded by fabulous scenes from the Visscher-Berchem map of 1658 with astronomical diagrams in place of the north and south polar circles. These classic scenes depict the abduction of Persephone, Zeus bring carried across the heavens in an eagle-drawn chariot, Poseidon commanding his entourage, and Demeter receiving the fruits of the Earth. CALIFORNIA IS AN ISLAND with a flat northern coast labelled Nova Albion, and a small island at about where Alaska is located is labelled Anian. The Great Wall of China is shown in Asia. Western Australia, Van Diemens Land and New Zealand are shown with incomplete coastlines. - Shirley, World, 513

¤ Lovely small world map in a Mercator projection from a Bible. Europe, Africa and Asia are at center with South America and part of North America at left.
The island of California is placed at the extreme right of the map. Practically no detail other than rivers and mountain ranges, except for a tiny engraved depiction of the Garden of Eden located just south of the Caspian Sea. Large table at bottom with numeric key to major locations throughout the world.
The title cartouche includes a scene of Noah's Ark and the great flood.

Col. ancien. Rousseurs, papier un peu jauni. Cartonnage pour la planisphère, mappemondes pliées et entoilées. 630 x 850 mm.

25 VALK, G./ SCHENK, P. Theoria Lunae, eius Motum Per Eccentricum ... Amsterdam, 1708. Col. Partie centrale en col. d'époque, partie ornementale en col. moderne rehaussée d'or. Deux infimes trous à l'intérieur de la carte. - Center part in original colours, outer decoration in modern colours, 2 very small holes into the engraved area. 435 x 515 mm.

¤ Carte céleste qui figure les épicycles de la lune. Elle est ornée des signes du zodiaque, de putti et de 2 diagrammes représentant les phases lunaires. - A chart concentrating upon the epicycles of the moon, showing the different appearances of the moon. Around the diagram the signs of the Zodiac. With two title cartouches carried by cherubs in the upper corners and two small diagrams in the lower corners. Embellished with clouds and putti. Peter Schenk and Gerard Valk reissued the copperplates of the original Cellarius atlas in 1708. These plates, identified by the addition of the new publisher's imprint on the title banner.

¤ Intéressante carte céleste de l'hémisphère sud par l'astronome français Philippe de La Hire, mise à jour par N. de Fer et publiée par Desnos, gravée par Van Loon. Représente différentes constellations non ptolémaïques telles que : La Colombe et La Cruzero.
