Description
[The Cure]. An uncoloured lithograph produced in Paris highlighting the woes of a young maiden, lying distraught in bed as a maid or servant comes to her bedside with a pierced chair and a large syringe/clyster, possibly in order to administer an enema. A younger sister or member of the house looks in in wonder and awe at the scene before her.
The costume looks Dutch, and the furniture 18th century.
