Grande "Carte physique et routière des Pyrénées donnant les Etablissements d'Eaux Minérales, Ainsi que les Endroits remarquables par les Sites Pittoresques et Curiosités naturelles etc. Dressée d'après les Cartes du Dépôt de la Guerre et celles du Cadastre, par A. Vuillemin". Ornée de 2 cartons : " Carte indiquant les principales Routes et Chemins de Fer qui conduisent aux Eaux minérales des Pyrénées" et "Profil de la chaine des Pyrénées de Perpignan à Bayonne". Gravée par Ch. Smith.
- Very large, highly detailed and uncommon map of the south west France with the Pyrenees. Including routes and railroads to the sources for mineral water. After A.Vuillemin. According to the title the map indicates the sources for mineral water and scenic views.
Rare.
Published by Auguste Logerot who was a French publisher active from c. 1839 until 1880. Logerot made use of the works of the well known cartographers Fremin, Dufour, Dyonnet, and Vuillemin. He published map, atlases, folding case maps and jigsaw puzzle maps. He was active at Quai des Augustins 55, Paris. Little else is known of Logerot's life and work.
Prepared by Alexandre Vuillemin (1812-1880) a french cartographer who studied under the prominent Auguste Henri Dufour (1798-1865).

The Librairie was founded in 1958 by Louis Loeb-Larocque. Originally, he arrived in France from Germany shortly after World War II. He started an antiquarian map and book shop in Paris, specializing in early maps, atlases, travel books, and prints. The shop was located at Rue Le Peletier until 1996, and was frequently visited by collectors and fellow dealers from all parts of the world.

At present, the office is located at 31 rue de Tolbiac in Paris in the lively 13th district, a 5-minute walk from the Bibliothéque Nationale de France (Metro Line 14)

Visitors are welcome to our shop by appointment, Monday through Friday.

We provide auction estimates based on photographs sent via the Internet. These estimates are not for valuation purposes and are subject to revision upon inspection of the object. It is impossible to provide verbal estimates by telephone, nor can we respond to requests sent without a photo.
