NAGASAKI-E - Hendrik Doeff and his dog.

Because of the scarcely of impressions from abroad many of the Nagasaki subjects, prints and paintings are copies. The lack of understanding usually makes these impressions a kind of primitive, which is shown in sections unknown to the Japanese (buttons, shadows, the way he Dutch are dressed etc.)
Most probably a copy (fumpon) after the painting in the Rijksmuseum voor Volkenkunde in Leiden, illustrated in: Stellingwerf, De diepe wateren van Nagasaki # 26.
