Condition: Gravure sur bois. Pâle mouillure en haut, affectant légèrement le titre extérieur et à droite du pli médian. Traces de pliures d'origine. Présenté dans un cadre doré. Non examiné hors du cadre.

Description

Plan en élévation, le nord à gauche. Figure dans François de Belleforest, "La Cosmographie universelle de tout le monde". En partie d'après Münster mais augmenté. Le plan reproduit assez fidèlement le plan de Saint-Victor, il comporte quelques mises à jour. Le nom du graveur, Cruche, figure en bas à gauche : il s'agit de Pierre Eskrich, graveur d'origine parisienne, fixé à Lyon dans les années 1564-65.

Orné, en haut, à gauche, des armes de France et à droite des armes de Paris. Quatre cartouches avec légende et renvois agrémentent le plan : "Description des principales Eglises, rües & places de la ville de paris, tant du dedans, que des faux-bourgs": en haut, à gauche, A à o ; en bas, à gauche, p à 28 ; à droite, 29 à 42, 43 à 84. Aux quatre angles, représentation des vents.

The Librairie was founded in 1958 by Louis Loeb-Larocque. Originally, he arrived in France from Germany shortly after World War II. He started an antiquarian map and book shop in Paris, specializing in early maps, atlases, travel books, and prints. The shop was located at Rue Le Peletier until 1996, and was frequently visited by collectors and fellow dealers from all parts of the world.
At present, the office is located at 31 rue de Tolbiac in Paris in the lively 13th district, a 5-minute walk from the Bibliothéque Nationale de France (Metro Line 14).
We welcome visitors to our shop by appointment, Monday through Friday.
