Carte d'Europe satirique pour l'année 1870 accompagnée d'un texte descriptif en bas de planche : L’ANGLETERRE, isolée, peste de rage et en oublie Presque L’IRLANDE qu’elle tient en laisse. L’ESPAGNE fume, appuyée sur le PORTUGAL. La FRANCE repousse les envahissements de la PRUSSE, qui avance une main sur la HOLLANDE l’autre sur L’AUTRICHE. L’ITALIE, aussi, dit à Bismarck: Ote donc tes pieds de là. LA CORSE et la SARDAIGNE. . . un vrai Gavroche qui rit de tout. Le DANEMARCK, qui a perdu ses jambes dans le HOLSTEIN, espère les reprendre. La TURQUIE d’EUROPE baille et s’éveille.

La TURQUIE d’ASIE aspire la fumée de son narguilhé. La SUÈDE fait des bonds de panthère. Et la RUSSIE ressemble à un croquemitaine qui voudrait remplir sa hotte.

Autour de 1870 paraissent des cartes caricaturales destinées à représenter le conflit, bon nombre proposent des figurations outrées de corps et des visages inscrits dans les contours des pays, au nombre de celles-ci, figure la carte de Paul Hadol. (Conf. Laurent Baridon).

The Librairie was founded in 1958 by Louis Loeb-Larocque. Originally, he arrived in France from Germany shortly after World War II. He started an antiquarian map and book shop in Paris, specializing in early maps, atlases, travel books, and prints. The shop was located at Rue Le Peletier until 1996, and was frequently visited by collectors and fellow dealers from all parts of the world.
At present, the office is located at 31 rue de Tolbiac in Paris in the lively 13th district, a 5-minute walk from the Bibliothéque Nationale de France (Metro Line 14).
We welcome visitors to our shop by appointment, Monday through Friday.
