Description

A beautiful map of Galicia in north western Spain, decorated with finely engraved wind roses, sailing boats, a triton [supporter of the God Neptune] as bearer of the title cartouche shaped as a shell and two cherubs holding a regional coat of arms and musical notes.
A highly desirable map of the Spanish province of Galicia. Major cities and towns are highlighted.
Galicia is socially and culturally distinct from other parts of Spain. The Celts were the dominant people in this region (including northern Portugal) for approximately 10 centuries.
The Celtic influence is clearly evident in Galician customs and ethnicity. Galicia is also known as the birthplace of Portugal.
