Five maps on one sheet, showing California, Alaska and Siberia and Japan. The map is from Diderot's Encyclopaedia which included eight maps tracing the history of the mapping of America. This map shows the Bering Straits an extended Alaska, Japan and a curious Jesso and California as an peninsular.
