Description

Projet de percements de rues et d'aménagements de carrefours entre la place de l'Hôtel de Ville et la rue Royale Saint-Martin, actuellement rue Réaumur. Ce projet d'améliorations proposé par Alexandre Delaborde a été gravé sur pierre par Alexandre Zakrzewski.
La planche comprend des annotations manuscrites qui décrivent l’agrandissement de l’hôtel de ville en 1836 et deux notes manuscrites avec renvois (ronds rouges) indiquent les lieux (place de l’hôtel de ville) où furent assassinés Joseph François Foullon et Jacques de Flesselles.

En 1836, l’hôtel de ville fut agrandi au moyen de la destruction des rues du Martrois, du tourniquet S. Jean (R. du pet. diable) de la Laurette des Haudriettes, d'une partie de la rue de la Mortellerie et de la Tixeranderie au moyen de 2 ailes et en ajoutant 3 fac.

Joseph François Foullon dit Foulon de Doué, seigneur de Doué, né à Saumur le 25 juin 1715, assassiné à Paris le 22 juillet 1789, est un administrateur français, qui fut une des premières victimes de la Révolution française, quatre jours après l'assassinat du maire de Paris Jacques de Flesselles. Nommé surintendant (ministre) des finances à la place de Jacques Necker, il a été pendu puis égorgé devant l'Hôtel de ville de Paris, en présence du nouveau maire Jean-Sylvain Bailly et de Lafayette, commandant de la Garde nationale, en même temps que l'intendant de Paris, Berthier de Sauvigny, avant d'avoir sa tête promenée au bout d'une pique.

Alexandre Louis Joseph, marquis de Laborde, comte de l'Empire, archéologue et homme politique français (1773-1842).
Il se consacra notamment avec l’aide de son ami Chateaubriand à la publication de deux ouvrages majeurs, le Voyage pittoresque et historique en Espagne, Paris, 1807-1818, 4 vol. in-folio et la Description des nouveaux jardins de la France et de ses anciens châteaux, Paris, 1808-1815, in-folio.
Il fut régulièrement consulté par Louis-Philippe, qui appréciait son esprit, notamment sur plusieurs projets importants tels que l'érection de l'obélisque de Louxor sur la place de la Concorde ou la transformation du château de Versailles en musée de l'histoire de France.

The Librairie was founded in 1958 by Louis Loeb-Larocque. Originally, he arrived in France from Germany shortly after World War II. He started an antiquarian map and book shop in Paris, specializing in early maps, atlases, travel books, and prints. The shop was located at Rue Le Peletier until 1996, and was frequently visited by collectors and fellow dealers from all parts of the world.
At present, the office is located at 31 rue de Tolbiac in Paris in the lively 13th district, a 5-minute walk from the Bibliothéque Nationale de France (Metro Line 14).
We welcome visitors to our shop by appointment, Monday through Friday.
